Semuliki National Park lays over Semliki Valley on the western side of the Rwenzori. The Ituri Forest of Congo Basin dominates this park. The park is one of Africa’s most ancient and bio-diverse forests and one of the few that survived the Ice Age.
The parks also hosts Semliki River which forms the international boundary. Ituri forest is habours many Central African wildlife species and local human population majorly dominated by the Batwa pygmy community. The parks hosts 443 birds and 53 Mammal species.
